Yes, but…
July 17, 2008I’m sick of this meme, but I enjoyed the Imperial Tokyo Trooper Roll, simply because I am jealous and want Stormtrooper armor. And because I want to visit Tokyo too.

Two clips from a recent Star Wars Weekend at one of the Disney parks. AWESOME!
I found a new site today called Star Wars Crawl that lets you create your own crawling text, that looks and sounds like the openings of the Star Wars Movies. Because I have been so board lately, my crawl is about boredom. Here it is…

A new trailer is out today for the August 15th Star Wars Clone Wars annimated film. I cant wait! I’m happy that I will have at least this one Star Wars film to bring my kids to in the theater. (I always felt bad for the kids who didnt get to see Star Wars in the theaters.) —> LINK HERE!
A link I’ve borrowed from Laughing Squid, a Flickr pool of vintage Star Wars photos, from childhoods in 1977 to 1985. This is so who i was, and who I still am today, a big arse Star Wars Geek, and proud of it, prequels be damned!
A bit documentary about the making of the original computer graphics in the first Star Wars film. A bit dull, but interesting for a Star Wars dork like myself.
…in Star Wars when Artoo Detoo had to shut down all the garbage compactors on the detention level? Well, here’s a record of his conversation with the Death Star computer. FUNNY!

I’m a Star Wars geek, but these guys who are real life “Jedi” kinda scare me!
I stumbled onto some Star Wars stuff I had never seen before. Geekologie claims that these are rejected Star Wars merchandise ideas from 1999, during the Episode One mainia. I don’t know, I think they look kinda fake (I am of the mind set that everything on the internet is fake), but who knows, it could be real. None the less, I enjoyed them, and would love to the the Cloud City desk lamp or the Jabba The Hutt bean bag. Check out the two page HERE and HERE.
Geekologie also linked to an Artoo-Detoo computer they found on Gizmodo. This has to be the best case mod ever! Lucas should really mass produce an Artoo computer case. I’d buy it for a buck! Take a look HERE.
With ROFLcon almost a month away, I have been brushing up on my memes. Well, coincidently, Waxy linked to Boing Boing who linked to Nerdkore. This is a great site that is combining oil painting and memes (as well as many great 8-bit video games from yesteryear, and other geeky themes). Anyway, Nerdkore has a great version of Darth Vader, which reminded me of my own in my Piss Poor Portraits series. I have enjoyed browsing this site that it has inspired to finish my Piss Poor Portraits. I have so little free time that paint is often forgotten about for long periods of time, and it takes something like to this to make me want to pick up the brush again. So, hopefully, soon, I will be posting two new works; “Steve” and “Kevin”. Come back soon and keep an eye out for some more very bad “art”.
Oh, and Nerdkore also introduced me to the “Techno Viking“. Some how I missed this one. But I am glad I found it. The Michael Jackson “Beat It” mash up is AWESOME! So awesome that I need to post it here for all to see. Enjoy!
I first saw this about a week old, but I keep forgetting to post it. As a father, and as a GIANT Star Wars geek, I have decided to wait until my kids are 8 or 9 before I sit them down and watch the films with them. I want them to be able to understand what they are taking in, and to remember the first time they see these films. That said, they do already know the characters (thanks to comic books, cartoons and Legos), and have seen bits and pieces. But, they don’t know who Lukes father is yet. At least, I don’t think they do anyway. I hope they don’t. I’ll find out some day.
See what fun that one guy can have on his own? This is why I need I new computer, one that can do more then words and pictures. I want to make silly little films too!
I love these kind of geek questions. I’d say it can’t. Though, I like the idea of a lightsaber made with a kryptonite crystal- I bet that would!
