Metal!

July 18, 2008

Check out this story from the BBC. - LINK HERE - It’s interesting for two reasons. First, it is about a Capuchin monk, Brother Cesare Bonizzi, is the lead singer in a heavy metal band. Rock on. Second, check out the volume “knob” (for lack of a better word) on the BBC video player. Turn it up. Turn it way up. It Goes To Eleven!!! That rocks even harder! Awesome!

Goldentusk - aka Andrew Goldenberg

This guy was link to yesterday on Boing Boing.  His gimmick is that he adds lyrics to instrumental film themes.  I found these freakin’ hilarious!  I have to repost them!  So, here you go…  Enjoy!

Yes, but…

I’m sick of this meme, but I enjoyed the Imperial Tokyo Trooper Roll, simply because I am jealous and want Stormtrooper armor.  And because I want to visit Tokyo too.

Link-O-Rama

May 28, 2008

If I had one wish for this site, it would be..  No, strike that, let me start over.  If I was ever going to turn this site into a “real” site, other then my little personalized corner of the interwebs, I would love to make it one of those sites that is nothing more then a collection of links of other sites.  Some sites (like Dark Roasted Blend) give you just the links, while others give their opinion or a pithy comment on the link (Geekologie is one of my favorites in this cataory.  The comments are justs as entertaining as the links themelves, in my opinion.  Sure, the “lads” humor, as the Brits call it, isn’t for every one, but it fits my tastes!), but no matter the format, I quite enjoy this type of site as a way to pass the time and to keep up with the world.

But, since I don’t have the time or energy to scan the webby-tubes each day to find hundreds of kewl links for all of you, my faithful readers, this site will just have to be what it is; dull, and limited in links.

That said, let me show you a few neat things I found today…

From Film School Rejects… A series of clips from movies, remade with Typography.  I’ve seen two od these before, but FSR has collected a slow of them together for you.  ~CLICK HERE FOR THE ARTICLE~     ps..no nudity, but NSFW due to language.

Next, an article from Boing Boing.  I’ll admit it, I’m a closeted Micheal Jackson fan.  Sure, his personal life is as freaky as all get out, but as a performer, I think he is pretty grand!  Anyway, here is a version of the “Smooth Criminal” video, remade with Fred Astair films.  Astair was a big influence on Jacksons dancing style, and you can see it here.  ~CLICK HERE FOR THE ARTICLE~

That’s all I have for links today.  As I find more, I’ll post them, if the fancy strikes me, or what ever that phrase is.

Internet Related Videos

May 23, 2008

I stumbled upon the new Weezer video today for their new song “Pork and Beans” (via Waxy). I liked it, because I’m into the whole “Internet culture” thing, so thought I would post it. Wait, didn’tt the Barenaked Ladies also do a video like this a few years ago? Yeah, they did! I better post that too, since I have nothing original myself to say. Thanks, enjoy the tunes.

Oh, an here are two more videos (the non music type) that make me laugh. I’m tossing them in, just ‘cuz.

The Uke

April 27, 2008

I’m working on a very long post about this last week and my ROFLcon experence, but while taking a break, I found this clip on Boing Boing.  I love when the ukulele, when it’s used in such a manner.  I dedicate this post to my old friend Mike Engeman, the best ukulele player I ever knew (and the only ukulele player I ever knew)!

Why the hell am I sharing this?

March 26, 2008

This is a bit from a dark time in my life. A sad, horrible, waisted time I called “college”. Meeting my wife was the only good part about that time. And yet, I’m going to let you sneak a peek at one night I would rather forget. Thankfully, this is one of the only times from that period that I have on video tape. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you… “I Wanna Sex You Up”NOTE - I’ve edited the video and updated it so that the credits are readable. So, if you’ve saved the old clip, then you may need to change to this newer version of the video.

Mac Music

Wow! Boing Boing linked to this Beatles video on YouTube today, which separated the different tracks on “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”. It’s really cool to listen too. Check it out! (update: the link is down)

With that, i give you my own version of a Beatles classic. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you… “Eleanor Rigby”!
